They say that mind wandering and dreaming play a huge role in our cognitive functions.
There was a study done at Stanford where a participant was told sleep, but would be woken up every time he started to dream. The next day, the participant felt tired and mentally exhausted, even though he technically slept for eight hours.
I guess dreaming is pretty important for a good night’s rest. Now I wonder if the quality of your dreams would somehow affect your body’s recovering during sleep. Hmm….interesting.
Anyways, I’m off to dream myself.
